The ScottsAgents' Profile

C. Scott Williams

C. Scott Williams first became interested in real estate growing up in Charlotte, NC with his mother whose real estate career spanned over forty years.  She would often take Scott on appointments as a child. "She would be in the front seat handwriting an offer using a huge binder of MLS pages as a desk and I would be in the back seat reading”. As soon as Scott acquired a driver’s license, she had him running ‘realtor errands’.  By the time he got out of high school he knew a lot about the business and you could say it was in his blood.  Soon after graduating high school, Scott attended the Queens College School of Real Estate Law and got his first real estate license in North Carolina. Scott also loved the restaurant business and spent many years waiting tables, bartending, catering, and working events; it seemed homes and hospitality went hand in hand.

After moving to Atlanta in the mid-1980s Scott became a professional clinical
massage therapist, (CMT,NMT) where he worked with chiropractors in his own private practice, and volunteered at AID Atlanta, an AIDS service organization working with those infected and affected by HIV.  Scott continued to invest in real estate and managed many rental properties.  One renovation project in Laguna Beach, Florida was a beach house that both Scott and his partner, Scott Discon, renovated together. This gave Scott W. the bug to get his Florida Real Estate License and work the panhandle
from Panama City to Apalachicola.

After Katrina ravaged the Gulf Coast, Scott joined Scott D. in Mandeville and started his construction business overseeing the renovation and repair of mostly storm damaged homes, many of which were raised off the ground in flood-prone areas.  It was fascinating to see the process of recovery and learn so much about construction.  Along with Scott Discon, "The Scotts" also opened and ran The Scotts' Coffee & Tapas Bar in Old Mandeville; a wonderful last hurrah in the restaurant business that has since been retired so Scott could focus on his original love - the renovation and sale of real estate. Scott in the present day 2022, specializes in construction design, management, installation, sales and/or rental and air B&B management. A lover of all things home, hearth, and hospitality, he loves working with his hands and the creative process of repurposing the old as well as building things new.

Scott Williams loves his community and serves proudly as a board member of Safe Harbor, a non-profit service organization for victims and survivors of domestic violence. In his free time, Scott enjoys the water, all forms of exercise and activity available in Old Mandeville, and entertaining at their tropical creole home with their family of dogs and friends.

Scott Discon

Scott G. Discon, a practicing attorney for the past 30 years in both Louisiana and Mississippi jurisdictions with the Discon Law Firm in Mandeville, LA and a licensed LA Real Estate Agent since 2006, is proud to join the Liuzza Realty Group, LLC in April of 2022.

Active in both the Northshore and Southshore communities through his devoted volunteerism, Scott presently serves as Vice-President of the Northshore Humane Society and currently chairs Mandeville’s Parks and Parkways Commission. His leadership post-Katrina on the recovery efforts with City Park in New Orleans was recognized by multiple national media outlets, and he was a founding board member of the nationally ranked dog park, NOLA City Bark. Scott also is a member and former board member of the Pontchartrain Yacht Club. Scott resides in Old Mandeville with his partner, Scott Williams and their 4 dogs, Fin, Rivers, Trey and Izzy. Hobbies include gardening, house renovation, exercise and dogs.

Joy ScottAgent Profile

Born and raised in the New Orleans area,  Joy has a love for local foods and traditions, and in general, all things that make a living in SE Louisiana wonderful.  Sadly, like so many displaced after Katrina, she moved to Southlake, Texas with her husband and 5 kids where she resided for 8 years before returning to the Mandeville area.

Encouraged by her custom homebuilder family, Joy decided in 2013 to start dabbling in real estate but had to put it on the back burner to raise her 3 high schoolers who attended Saint Paul’s, Saint Scholastica, and Mandeville High.

She began her Real Estate journey with Gardner Realtors and then spent the next 6 years with a small boutique firm utilizing construction expertise, market knowledge, and her creative spirit to market some of the North Shores' finest homes.  A chance encounter co-listing one of her own family’s previous projects with Broker Vince Liuzza introduced her to next-level professionalism and attention to detail and after six months of deliberation, she was ready to make her move and join the team… knowing heart and soul that the Liuzza Group would be the perfect fit.

Joy’s husband and family have been building luxury homes and developing commercial real estate for over 30 years, and this is where Joy’s vast knowledge of homes and her marketing talents were born.  She and her husband have built and sold multiple homes in The Sanctuary Subdivision of Mandeville that have set sales records time and time again.  Building high-end luxury homes gives Joy a unique perspective on the building process and the unique “eye for marketing” required in the realm of luxury real estate.

Joy is a member of NOMAR and the National Association of Realtors.  She currently resides in Mandeville with her husband and her adult son who is Autistic and is active in the special needs community where she has become an advocate for her son and others. Joy is a cancer victor and a member of the YouNight sisterhood. She also works part-time for Dr. Kyle Acosta as a patient care coordinator.  In her spare time, Joy loves to travel the world, and spend time in the City enjoying the local food and music. You can often find her with family and friends letting the good times roll, or as we say in these parts… Laissez les Bon Temps Rouler!
