Growing up in Middle Tennessee, Ken came by his love for real estate early in life; “I can remember, as a child walking through homes that were under construction. I loved the experiences of exploring other’s homes and seeing how other people lived and how homes could be so unique and different”
Ken began his career in the Metro Nashville area in December of 1987. His first position was with a small boutique real estate office by the name of Carolyn Little Realty that was located on 16th Ave, also known as “Music Row”. “I can remember how excited I was to begin my new career, even while I still worked at First American National Bank full time. My only training at Carolyn’s was ‘here are the forms, this is the copier and here are all the MLS books’! That was it!”
It was not until July 1, 1991 that Ken gave up his position at the bank and went into real estate full time. At that time, he joined ERA Pacesetter Partners in Brentwood, TN. for the next year and a half. While there, Ken was under the tutelage of a gentleman who, at the time, was considered one of the finest real estate trainers in Tennessee.
Eventually he was recruited to RE/MAX of Brentwood for a year and then was stolen away to RE/MAX BCA Partners of Nashville for most of the next 3 years.
Finally, Realty Executives Fine Homes recruited him away again.
Then in 1993, Ken stumbled upon a situation that would change his life. Ken had put together three custom home deals that he brought to an organization by the name of Rachelle Homes, LLC. The organization’s owner Brad Jacobs was so impressed with Ken’s drive and determination, that from that point on Brad listed all of his homes exclusively with Ken.
Ken not only sold homes for Brad, but also became his construction manager! From 2004-2008, Brad would ask Ken, ‘what do you want to build, where would you like to build it and what would you like to put in it’? Ken became the project manager and interior designer. Everything from beginning to end. Building homes became his passion, until the economic housing crash of 2008.
In the interim, Ken earned his Graduate, REALTOR® Institute (GRI) designation. By this distinction, Realtors stand out to prospective home buyers and sellers as a REALTOR® who has gained in-depth knowledge on technical subjects as well as the fundamentals of real estate.
Ken relocated to Mandeville in 2013 after having visited the New Orleans area several times. He currently resides in Madisonville, LA.
Ken’s philosophy of “providing outstanding service that exceeds expectation the first and every time” has earned him clients from all over the world, many repeat clients. Ken assisted one physician couple in finding 5 different homes in the period of approximately 6 years!
Most of Ken’s clients come to him by referral of other satisfied clients.
